Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edvard Grieg (ranked 2284 p4p, 318 weight class) and Jackson Spinks (ranked 2489 p4p, 337 weight class). Grieg comes to the cage accompanied by In the Hall of the Mountain King. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edvard Grieg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Spinks! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grieg circles away from the clinch attempt letting Grieg counter with a right hand. Spinks doesn't manage to clinch there - Grieg circles away.
Grieg throwing a counter right hand but Spinks manages to avoid it. Spinks digs a good body shot into Grieg's ribs. Spinks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Grieg defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grieg throws out a loose jab but Spinks uses good head movement to avoid it. A low kick from Spinks is predictable there and Grieg counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Grieg. Spinks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grieg controls the pace.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Spinks manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Grieg manages to get himself to full guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Spinks working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Grieg gets back to half guard. Grieg wants to improve his position but Spinks is controlling well.

Spinks can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Grieg is looking to escape. Spinks lands a couple of good shots and Grieg has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Spinks misses with a takedown and Grieg connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Grieg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Spinks trying to control but Grieg postures up.

No, Grieg has managed to get both his arms back between Spinks's legs - danger averted. Grieg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Grieg working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Grieg's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Spinks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grieg's guard. Spinks makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Spinks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grieg swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grieg is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Grieg lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edvard Grieg dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Spinks tries to close the distance and clinch but Grieg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Grieg swats away the attempt to clinch by Spinks. Grieg throws a sloppy head kick and Spinks moves out of range easily. Spinks feints the counter takedown. Spinks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Spinks controlling from the top position. Spinks postures up.

Spinks passes Grieg's left leg - he's now in half guard. Grieg wants to control but Spinks is keeping busy and won't allow it. Grieg is staying active underneath Spinks, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Spinks lands with a punch from half guard. Grieg tries to roll over but Spinks keeps him under control. Grieg gets back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Grieg is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spinks is controlling him. Spinks wants to control from the top but Grieg keeps moving. Grieg is trying to control the position but Spinks postures up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Spinks won't allow Grieg to sweep him here. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Spinks jumps into guard, dragging Grieg to the mat.

Spinks pulls Grieg in close to his closed guard and prevents Grieg from doing any damage or advancing position. Grieg is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Spinks manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Grieg manages to get himself to full guard.
Spinks throws an elbow that misses. Grieg uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Spinks's guard. Nice move by Grieg!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grieg avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Grieg keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Spinks's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Jackson Spinks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Spinks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
