Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junkyard Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leon Montana!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

That kick from Dog tenderised Montana's leg. Montana is trying to keep his angry face on.

It looks like Junkyard Dog has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Dog throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Montana throws out a counter right but Dog avoids it with no problem.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dog feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Montanas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Montana uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dog.
Montana looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Dog cracks Montana with a right hand to the side of the head.
Dog will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Montana swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Dog lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dog looks to land a left hand but Montana moved out of range nicely.
Dog buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Montana connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dog feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Montana's calf.
Dog throws the left hand but Montana avoids the punch easily.
Montana only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Montana has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dog finds it's way round the side to connect with Montana's head.
Montana has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Nice straight punches there by Dog. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dog.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As Dog backs off Montana throws a huge counter combo but Dog manages to avoid it all.
Dog pivots, looking for a leg kick but Montana is out of range and Dog settles back down.
Montana tries a quick counter leg kick but Dog is wise to it.
Dog misses with a hook. Montana ducked under it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dog throws a looping overhand right but Montana ducks down to avoid it.
Montana looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Dog lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Montana at a distance.
Dog goes for a double leg but Montana avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Montana continues to drive forward.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Montana! But no joy.

Dog throws a lazy right hand but Montana sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It seemed like Montana was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Junkyard Dog is winning the standup battle so far.
