PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tamas Priskin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigorij Defotkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tamas Priskin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Grigorij Defotkov!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Defotkov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Priskin but Priskin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Priskin fails with the takedown
and Defotkov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Priskin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Defotkov counters with a two punch combo.
Priskin fails with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tamas Priskin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Defotkov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Defotkov.

Priskin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Defotkov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Defotkov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Priskin is breathing heavily.

Defotkov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Defotkov feints and as Priskin raises his hands in defense, Defotkov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Defotkov stands and steps away. Priskin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Defotkov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Priskin can't keep his opponent in guard - Defotkov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Priskin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Defotkov scores with a couple of nice shots.

Defotkov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Defotkov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Defotkov is thwarting Priskin's attempts to control the position.

Defotkov stands up and beckons Priskin to join him on the feet.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Defotkov looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Priskin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Defotkov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Defotkov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Defotkov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Priskin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Defotkov on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Grigorij Defotkov just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Defotkov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Priskin is trying to stand up here but Defotkov is controlling him well.
Defotkov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Priskin works his way to full guard. Good work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Priskin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Defotkov wants to control from the top but Priskin keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Grigorij Defotkov dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Priskin fails with the takedown

and Defotkov counters with a shoot takedown. Priskin fights it but they end up in guard.

Defotkov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Priskin, up you get!
Nice takedown defense from Priskin. No joy for Defotkov on that attempt.
Tamas Priskin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Defotkov gets the takedown into side control.
Priskin struggling a bit here.
Defotkov is looking to take a break and control but Priskin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Priskin tries to control but Defotkov manages to take his back.

Defotkov tightening his grip on Priskin, looking for the choke.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Priskin tries to roll but Defotkov sticks to his back.
Priskin trying to control the hands but Defotkov won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Defotkov lands a shot to the body.
Priskin looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Priskin is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Priskin is really stuck here.

Defotkov is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Priskin won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Defotkov off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Grigorij Defotkov!
