Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Reid (ranked 5902 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noboru Tanaka (ranked 6039 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sebastian Reid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Noboru Tanaka! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanaka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reid. Tanaka lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tanaka slips a jab and a cross from Reid.
As Reid backs off Tanaka throws a huge counter combo but Reid manages to avoid it all. A head kick misses from Reid. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some bone on bone action there as Tanaka checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Reid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Reid moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromTanaka.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reid swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tanaka counters with a two punch combo. Tanaka gets tackled into the cage by Reid. Reid maintains the clinch. Reid has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tanaka avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Tanaka prevents a body shot from Reid. Reid stalling.
Tanaka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick misses from Reid. Reid throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tanaka now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Reid dives in and grabs Tanaka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanaka pushes down on Reid's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sebastian Reid. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reid misses with a wild body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reid tries to keep at a distance but Tanaka has taken the fight into the clinch. Reid fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Reid tries to pull guard but Tanaka forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Tanaka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tanaka lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Reid throws a lazy uppercut
and Tanaka makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A punch combination from Tanaka misses. Tanaka rushes Reid and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tanaka throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Reid is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tanaka has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Reid uses from the top position. Reid sitting in guard here, content to control. Tanaka is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Tanaka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sloppy strikes from Reid. Those never looked like landing. Tanaka is looking for the big counter here. Reid throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tanaka counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Reid throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tanaka is looking for the big counter here. Reid falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tanaka counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tanaka throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Reid changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tanaka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tanaka sneaks out the side door and pushes Reid away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Noboru Tanaka dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Reid really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A head kick misses from Reid. Reid moves into the clinch. Tanaka with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Reid changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tanaka fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Tanaka works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Tanaka wants to stand and escape but instead Reid has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Reid not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are working up against the cage. Tanaka manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Reid is looking to break free of the clinch but Tanaka has double underhooks. Tanaka with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Reid is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Reid drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tanaka gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tanaka is trying to maintain a safe position but Reid gets an underhook and turns Tanaka into the cage. Reid on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Reid has picked Tanaka up - he's going for a ride! Reid dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Tanaka has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Reid is on him like a limpet, forcing Tanaka back against the cage. Tanaka has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Reid is trying to keep an underhook but Tanaka manages to get the takedown into half guard. Reid kicks off Tanaka and gets to his feet. Reid moves into the clinch successfully.
Tanaka lands a right hand that snaps the head of Reid backwards. Tanaka crunches a lovely knee into Reid's ribcage. Knees to the body from Tanaka.

Reid goes for a takedown attempt but Tanaka pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Tanaka tries to land knees in the clinch but Reid avoids the damage to the body. The referee is keeping an eye on Tanaka - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Noboru Tanaka seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Reid is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Tanaka pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tanaka ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tanaka no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Tanaka wants to get back to his feet but Reid is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Tanaka has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Reid off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reid gets tackled into the cage by Tanaka. Tanaka maintains the clinch. Tanaka decides to pull guard. Reid distracts Tanaka with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Noboru Tanaka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Reid regains guard immediately. Reid looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tanaka passes into side control.

Reid is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reid stops Tanaka from standing up. Reid slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Reid will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tanaka manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Reid tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tanaka lands with a short shot to the head. Tanaka has clasped his hands together around Reid's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. You can see the frustration on Reid's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tanaka gets to mount! Reid was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Reid tries to hold on but Tanaka pushes him away. Noboru Tanaka is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Noboru Tanaka has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tanaka wants to control the action but instead Reid gets a body lock and reverses into Tanaka's guard! Nice work! Reid seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Reid postures up in Tanaka's guard and throws a big left but Tanaka blocks it. Sebastian Reid has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reid working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Noboru Tanaka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tanaka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
