Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Patton (ranked 24485 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melf Yaztromo (ranked 6145 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thurman Patton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Melf Yaztromo! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Yaztromo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Patton is refusing to be controlled, as Yaztromo sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yaztromo wants to stand up but Patton has a hold of him and won't allow it. Yaztromo prevents Patton from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yaztromo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Patton wants to get back to his feet.
Yaztromo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Yaztromo gets a double leg takedown into Patton's guard. Patton wants to stand but Yaztromo is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patton keeping moving, preventing Yaztromo from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yaztromo won't allow Patton to get back to his feet. Patton tries to land a sweep but no joy. Patton is working hard here to advance position. Patton looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Yaztromo puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Patton is looking to improve his position.
Yaztromo wants to pass to mount but Patton is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yaztromo tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Patton. Yaztromo not doing much here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Patton wants to improve his position but Yaztromo is controlling well.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Yaztromo has his takedown stuffed and Patton counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Patton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yaztromo's half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yaztromo wants to get back to his feet. Yaztromo is trying to control but can't.
Patton tries to stand but can't do so whilst Yaztromo controls his leg. Patton wants to control but Yaztromo is keeping him busy. Patton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Patton prevents Yaztromo from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Melf Yaztromo will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Patton tries to sprawl but Yaztromo drives through with a takedown into half guard. Patton pushes Yaztromo off and gets back to his feet. Melf Yaztromo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yaztromo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Patton is fending him off so far but Yaztromo persists. Nope, Patton circles away and we're back to standing. Patton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Yaztromo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Patton closes the distance and clinches up with Yaztromo, looking for a takedown. Patton pushes Yaztromo against the cage but Yaztromo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Yaztromo takes the fight into the clinch. Patton working aggressively here.
Patton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Yaztromo to keep the fight standing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yaztromo tries to circle away but Patton has him pinned against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yaztromo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thurman Patton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yaztromo prevents the takedown attempt.
Patton can't break the clinch.
Patton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Yaztromo to keep the fight standing. Yaztromo pulls guard effortlessly. Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Yaztromo trying to keep a closed guard but Patton is proving a slippery customer.
Yaztromo has a closed guard, preventing Patton from standing up. Yaztromo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Patton frees his head nicely. Oh but Yaztromo has switched to an armbar! Patton is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
