And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dock Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Butcher closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ellis did well to prevent Butcher getting side control.
Ellis is not content to let Butcher control the position.
Butcher prevents Ellis from improving his position.
Butcher is controlling the pace.
Butcher trying to control the action but Ellis is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Butcher is working for a kimura but Ellis is defending it quite comfortably.
Butcher is trying to control. Ellis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ellis manages to get to full guard.
Ellis trying to keep a closed guard but Butcher is proving a slippery customer.
Butcher trying to control the position from guard on top but Ellis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ellis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ellis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Butcher is landing a low percentage of strikes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Butcher darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Butcher wants to work for an arm triangle but Ellis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Butcher trying to control from half guard but Ellis is working away.

Butcher is working for a kimura but Ellis is defending it quite comfortably.
Butcher is pressing down on Ellis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ellis is holding on for now.

Ellis is looking for a sweep. Butcher is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Butcher is looking to take a break and control but Ellis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Butcher is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ellis has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ellis is trying to control but can't.

Butcher is working for a submission of some sort.
Butcher is looking to stall here but Ellis recovers full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ellis is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Butcher trying to control but Ellis is working from the bottom.
Ellis controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Butcher takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Butcher is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like Barry Butcher has been cut.
Dock Ellis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ellis lands a front kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Ellis stuffs the takedown.
Ellis is looking for the big counter here.
Ellis looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Butcher is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ellis can do to turn this around?
Ellis is looking to slow Butcher down with leg kicks.
Ellis connects with an inside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Butcher.
Ellis lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Butcher stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Butcher takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ellis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Butcher's hands.
Ellis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Ellis drops Butcher with a beautiful combination! Butcher stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ellis is looking for the KO!

Ellis lands a nice looking body shot.
Oh Butcher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ellis connects with a body shot.
Butcher seems to have got his legs back now.
A good leg kick by Ellis.
Ellis sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Butcher's defenses. It connects perfectly with Butcher's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dock Ellis!
During a confident post fight interview, Dock Ellis thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
