The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Livingston shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Livingston was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Livingston stands up and beckons Mathews to his feet.
Livingston misses with a double jab
and Mathews counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mathews tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Livingston paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Livingston shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mathews's guard.
Mathews is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Livingston has his hands clasped together but Mathews extends and breaks Livingston's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mathews.
