Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leonard Fraser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andy Jr! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fraser misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jr throws the left hand but Fraser avoids the punch easily. An attempted straight right counter from Fraser misses the target. Jr gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Fraser ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jr moves away. Jr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fraser sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jr somewhat. Jr throws a nice looking combination but Fraser bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jr with a lazy takedown attempt and Fraser counters with a nice uppercut. Fraser throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oooooh!!! Fraser has knocked Jr down with a huge combo! Fraser steps away and waves a wobbly Jr back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Andy Jr has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fraser misses the jab. Jr has his takedown stuffed and Fraser connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Leonard Fraser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Jr. Fraser throws a big shot that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fraser stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fraser wants it to stay on the feet. Fraser cracks Jr with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Jr looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Fraser finish him?
Jr is rocked! Fraser weaves into range and cracks Jr right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Jr goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Fraser is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Leonard Fraser! Our winner, Leonard Fraser, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
