Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
49 - 39 - 2, fighting out of London, Paul Poulter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Page! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut there from Page. Page moves into the clinch. Page pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Page pushes Poulter up against the cage in a clinch. Page misses with some punches.
Page displaying some good clinch control by pressing Poulter up against the cage. Poulter is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Poulter stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Page escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Poulter swats away the attempt to clinch by Page. Page scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Nice straight punches there by Poulter. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Poulter. Page tries to close the distance and clinch up but Poulter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Poulter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Page has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Danny Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Page gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Page manages to break the clinch.
Poulter looks to land a left hand but Page moved out of range nicely. Page tries to clinch there but Poulter circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poulter jabbing away but nothing is landing. Page tries to clinch up but Poulter circles away and keeps his distance. Page closes the distance and pushes Poulter back into the cage. Page breaks from the clinch.
Page listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. A head kick misses from Page. Page steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Poulter. Poulter throws a right hand that Page ducks under and follows up with a left that Page also avoids with ease. Page clinches up with Poulter and pushes him back against the cage. Poulter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Page has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Page uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Poulter. Poulter tries to bum rush Page with a series of wild strikes but Page uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Page clinches. Page looking to stall.
Page's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Page keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Poulter's efforts to push away. A bit of stalling here from Poulter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Page manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Page breaks the clinch.
Page tries to clinch but Poulter is having none of it. Poulter jabbing away but nothing is landing. Page moves in looking to clinch but Poulter pushes him off. Page jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Poulter looks to land a left hand but Page moved out of range nicely. Page fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Poulter, pushing him back against the cage. Poulter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Page doesn't manage to clinch there - Poulter circles away.
Poulter is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Page throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Page with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Poulter to score with a decent uppercut. Page tries to clinch up and Poulter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab by Page. Page fails in his attempt to clinch. Page clinches with his opponent.
Poulter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Poulter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Poulter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A short uppercut from Poulter. Page lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. A short uppercut from Page. Page tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A shot in the inside from Page. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Poulter cracks Page with a nice body shot. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Poulter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Poulter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Poulter digs a right hand into Page's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Page's gas tank. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Page. Page breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Page tries to clinch but Poulter is having none of it. Page closes the distance and pushes Poulter back into the cage. Page escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Page tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Poulter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Poulter scores with a hook to the body. Page takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Page lands with a cross. Page tries to clinch up but Poulter circles away and keeps his distance. The fighters circle momentarily. Page darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Page fails with an attempt to clinch.
Poulter lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Page lands a really nice looking cross but Poulter seems unphased.
Poulter is rocked! Poulter gets tackled into the cage by Page. Page maintains the clinch. Oh Poulter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Page throws a punch but it's blocked by Poulter. Page manages to break the clinch.
Page moves into the clinch. Page taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Poulter fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Page swings wildly with an uppercut but Poulter uses good head movement to avoid it. Page misses with a hook from the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Page fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Poulter seems to have got his legs back now. Poulter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Page. Poulter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Page backwards. Poulter is stalling here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Page dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Page tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Poulter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Page moves in looking to clinch but Poulter pushes him off. Poulter misses with a low kick. Page throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Poulter's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Page dives in looking to finish as Poulter flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Page's strikes! Page is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Poulter's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Poulter was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
