Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quintus Octavian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Cano! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cano throws a series of punches but Octavian avoids them all with ease. Cano throws a series of punches but Octavian avoids them all with ease. Octavian avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Octavian. A combination from Cano does no damage. Octavian scores with a push kick. Cano takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Cano falls off balance throwing a combination
and Octavian counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Cano tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Octavian manages to move to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Octavian wants to finish this one by submission but Cano is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Octavian. Octavian is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cano can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Octavian wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Octavian working away from the top, dropping strikes. Cano working to try and regain half guard.
Octavian controlling the position easily from mount. Octavian swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cano is now in Octavian's guard. A big mistake from Octavian there, giving up the dominant position!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Octavian working for a triangle but Cano defends it easily.
Cano is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Octavian looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Cano with a flurry of punches that miss. Octavian is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Octavian is looking to advance position but Cano won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Octavian thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Octavian throwing shots but Cano is blocking nicely. Octavian content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Octavian continues to stall. Octavian tries to pass to full mount but Cano defends it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quintus Octavian dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Octavian connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. No joy there for Cano, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Octavian throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cano's head.
It looks like Randy Cano has been cut. Octavian lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cano backs up against the cage.
Randy Cano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cano throws a left and a right that both miss
and Octavian holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Cano tries to land a knee to the head but Octavian blocks with his arms.
Octavian lands with a right to the head.
Cano is rocked! Octavian is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cano can do to turn this around? Octavian throws a big uppercut that drops Cano! More strikes from Octavian and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Cano lies dazed against the cage as Octavian celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quintus Octavian! Quintus Octavian took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Ryan retires after crushing defeat ! He can be my butler and his manager my chauffeur.'.
