Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josue Oliavo (ranked 8524 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney King (ranked 5195 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Josue Oliavo has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josue Oliavo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodney King! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Oliavo enables King to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oliavo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Oliavo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. King throwing strikes from guard but Oliavo blocks nicely. Oliavo trying to control the position.
King throws a big elbow that misses. King missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. King wants to control from the top but Oliavo keeps moving. King loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King postures up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Oliavo throws a series of punches but King avoids them all with ease. King keeps the fight on the outside. King checks a leg kick nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oliavo misses with an uppercut. Oliavo throws a poor cross that misses
and King counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Oliavo moves to clinch but King breaks away and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. King takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Oliavo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Oliavo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Oliavo keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully. King throwing strikes but missing. King chips away with some ground and pound. King throws a strike but Oliavo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. King wants to stand up but Oliavo is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliavo trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oliavo is pushing down on King's leg trying to pass to half guard. King is fighting to maintain full guard but Oliavo has managed to sneak the leg through. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! King is trying to stand back up but Oliavo is controlling him

King is refusing to be controlled, as Oliavo sits in half guard. Oliavo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. King looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliavo is keen to just control but King is a slippery customer. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. King looks like he's trying to stand up.

and King counters with a right hand to the body. Oliavo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Oliavo misses with a right hand and King counters with a left to the body. King shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than King was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Oliavo explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This has been an exciting period of action! King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King is looking to take a break and control but Oliavo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Oliavo dodges the ground and pound from King. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oliavo is not content to let King control the position. King might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oliavo haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. That was a close round but I would say that Josue Oliavo will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Oliavo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Oliavo tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A big right from Oliavo misses. Oliavo misses with an uppercut. A jab from Oliavo misses. Oliavo fails in his attempt to clinch. Oliavo wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance. King shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Oliavo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We've been informed that King has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. King trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Oliavo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. King is not content to let Oliavo control the position. Oliavo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Oliavo wants to clinch. Oliavo jabbing away but nothing is landing. King misses with a straight right. Oliavo looks to throw the jab but King is out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Oliavo. Oliavo moves in looking to clinch but King pushes him off. King throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oliavo was covering up waiting for the punch and King finishes the takedown easily into guard. King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliavo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King throws a strike but Oliavo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. King is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Oliavo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. King wants to stand up but Oliavo is controlling him. Oliavo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliavo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Oliavo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oliavo prevents King from breaking the clinch. Oliavo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. King closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oliavo to the mat! Oliavo manages to get full guard. King working some strikes from top position. King postures up.

Oliavo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. King is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Oliavo is controlling him well. Oliavo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

He's got his hand pressing down on Oliavo's thigh. Oliavo counters though and makes it back to full guard. Oliavo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that's the end of the fight! Josue Oliavo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Oliavo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
