The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark shoots in looking for a takedown. Powell tries to sprawl out of it but Stark keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Powell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Powell looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Powell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Stark is trying to control the position but Powell postures up.
Stark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Powell on the ground.

Powell drops back looking for a leg! Stark is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stark manages to kick Powell off! Powell jumps back into Stark's guard.
Stark has Powell pulled in close to control his posture.

Powell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Powell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stark looking to control.

Powell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Stark misses with a takedown

and Powell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Stark taking a breather.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stark is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Powell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Powell jumps into guard, dragging Stark to the mat.
