Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Alban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes into the arena with Go to sleep blaring out of the sound system. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alban takes one on the button.
It looks like Erik Alban has been cut. Alban closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Jesse James has been cut. A right-left combo lands from James. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alban slips a jab and a cross from James.
Alban tries to clinch but James moves out of range. Alban staying out of range there. James shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alban's guard. James looking to pass the guard. Alban looking to sweep here. No luck so far. James postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. James might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Alban in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. James scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alban takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. James has control of Alban's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alban regains control of the situation pretty easily.
James fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
James is in the full mount, landing strikes. James is breathing heavily. James scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Alban?
James prevents Alban from getting the reversal. James lands a heavy elbow. James punishing his opponent with strikes. James with the ground and pound from mount. Alban swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Alban is in all sorts of trouble here.

James pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. James landing shots from mount. Alban is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

James looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. James lands a big shot there that rocks Alban but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Alban sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Alban looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Alban is trying to defend against the ground and pound but James scores with a couple of nice shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alban moves into full guard.
James lands a couple of elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse James dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alban sees it coming and avoids it easily. Alban throws a combination that misses and James counters with a takedown into side control. Alban sneaks back into half guard. James throwing shots but Alban is blocking nicely. Alban is trying to control but can't.
James is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Alban has managed to free his arm - good work. Alban trying to control here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alban has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alban is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. James lands strikes from half guard. James blocks the strikes from Alban.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Alban wants to clinch and James counters with a right hand to the body. A jab lands there for James. Alban misses with a head kick.
Alban pushes James up against the cage in a clinch. Alban misses with an elbow over the top. Alban is fighting off a takedown attempt but James is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Alban to the mat. Alban regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Alban trying to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Horrible takedown by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Alban which made him look bad. James shoots in but no luck this time. Alban fails to land with a series of punches.

The referee warns Alban that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

James lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Alban is looking to improve his position but James isn't that keen on the idea. Alban tries to lock up and control but James gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Jesse James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. James scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Alban?

Alban wants to control but James is having none of it. Alban bucks James off and manages to get back to his feet! Alban tries to clinch and James counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alban is on top in guard.
Alban must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alban accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alban is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alban doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alban manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. James looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Alban wants to get back to full guard. James is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alban is just riding it out for now. James eventually gives up the hold. Alban blocking the ground and pound attempt from James.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alban defends it well. James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

James is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Alban sees it coming and defends easily. James looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. And that's the end of the fight! Jesse James showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
