Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Leach (ranked 6221 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caolan Maguire (ranked 7013 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Leach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caolan Maguire!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maguire swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Maguire gets a clinch.
Leach escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Maguire swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maguire slips a straight right by Leach.
Maguire looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Maguire won't allow Leach to sweep him here.
Maguire is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Leach controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maguire is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maguire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Leach wants to sweep but no luck.
Leach is trying to control the position but Maguire postures up.
Leach bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maguire's guard.
Leach missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maguire pulls Leach in close to prevent any damage.
Maguire looking to control.
Leach has gone for a leg lock! Maguire slips out almost immediately though and dives into Leach's guard.
Leach has Maguire pulled in close to control his posture.
Maguire is stalling in the full guard.
Maguire throwing strikes but missing.
Leach looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maguire is one step ahead there.
Maguire must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Maguire decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Leach, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maguire bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Maguire wants to lay and pray for a moment but Leach keeps working.
What's Leach going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Maguire lands an elbow.
Leach takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Leach tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maguire wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Maguire is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leach knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Leach manages to work his way to half guard, despite Maguire's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leach is trying to stand up here but Maguire is controlling him well.
Maguire takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Leach is rocked!

Maguire lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Oh Leach is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Leach is defending against the submission attempts here by Maguire.
Leach trying to control here.
Leach is looking for a sweep. Maguire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maguire lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Maguire decides to return to a standing position.
Maguire drives through with a takedown into guard.
Leach is breathing heavily.
Leach is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Maguire lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Maguire connects with a couple of short punches.
Maguire with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Maguire won't allow Leach to sweep him here.
Maguire decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Leach finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Maguire's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Leach falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Caolan Maguire!
