Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Schneider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arep Hensem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schneider comes into the arena with Its a fight blaring out of the sound system. Stephan Schneider had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Stephan Schneider has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneider moves in looking to clinch but Hensem pushes him off. Schneider looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hensem misses with a takedown and Schneider counters with a single leg into guard. Hensem didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hensem wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Schneider manages to pass to side control. Schneider working Hensem over with strikes. Schneider is pressing down on Hensem's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hensem is holding on for now. Schneider uses his free foot to push down on Hensem's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hensem. You get the feeling that Hensem really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Schneider landing punches. Schneider will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hensem tries to buck Schneider off but he can't manage it. Hensem takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Schneider has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hensem looks gassed! Schneider jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hensem is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hensem and Schneider has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Hensem really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schneider. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hensem wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Schneider throwing shots but missing, from side control. Hensem is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Schneider is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hensem is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Stephan Schneider is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hensem tries for a takedown but Schneider circles away easily and Schneider counters with a takedown into side control. That's three minutes gone in the round. Schneider is working Hensem over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hensem is wriggling around but Schneider manages to pass to half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Schneider rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hensem moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Schneider stuffs the takedown. Hensem should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hensem misses with a takedown and Schneider counters with a nice uppercut. Stephan Schneider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arep Hensem. Schneider fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Schneider lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Hensem.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Schneider gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Schneider apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Hensem tries to bum rush Schneider with a series of wild strikes but Schneider uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Schneider tries to close the distance and clinch but Hensem swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Schneider will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hensem has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hensem there as he acknowledges the shot. Stephan Schneider seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hensem fails to land the takedown. Hensem avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Schneider shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schneider showed some decent athleticism there. Stephan Schneider is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hensem is trying to escape back to his feet but Schneider uses the scramble to pass into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Stephan Schneider showed his dominance in that final round. Well Schneider has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
