Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Loyd Valentine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Unger! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Unger misses with a kick to the body.
Valentine looks to throw the jab but Unger is out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Valentine. Valentine fails to land the takedown. Valentine shoots for a double leg takedown but Unger sprawls well. He's pushed Valentine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Loyd Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Unger fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valentine walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Unger gets in close and instigates a clinch. Valentine manages to pull guard.
Valentine wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Unger won't allow Valentine to get back to his feet. Unger being controlled here momentarily. Valentine continues to stall. Valentine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Unger defends it easily. Valentine working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Valentine not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Unger uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. No luck for Valentine with that takedown attempt. Valentine finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Unger's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Valentine falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Unger!
