The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guthrie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maki tries to avoid it but Guthrie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maki to the ground. Maki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Maki lands a right hook to the body.
Guthrie shoots in for a double leg but Maki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Guthrie takes one on the button. Guthrie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Guthrie is rocked! Maki lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Guthrie - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Maki!
