Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Sanchez with that takedown attempt.

Sanchez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sanchez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sanchez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Sanchez breaks from the clinch.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sanchez's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sanchez tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanchez is trying to control but Johnson passes into side control!
Sanchez is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.

Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Johnson tries to advance to mount but can't.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sanchez wants to control but Johnson postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Sanchez goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.
Sanchez thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnson if he has to take too many more of those.

Sanchez feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Johnson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sanchez throws a nice inside leg kick.

Johnson gets a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanchez wants to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson tries to stand and escape but Sanchez is controlling the position.
Sanchez wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sanchez wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez keeps trying to improve his position.

Sanchez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sanchez pushes Johnson off, looking to escape but Johnson dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Sanchez is forced to tap! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Andrew Johnson!
