Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Tom Tomson (ranked 22242 p4p, 251 weight class) and Matt Terrell (ranked 8324 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is R-Swift- Awesome God. This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 2 losses; Tom Tomson! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Matt Terrell!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Tomson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tomson tries to clinch there but Terrell circles away.
Terrell drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tomson defends it well.
Terrell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tomson tries to clinch but Terrell is having none of it.
Terrell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tomson swivels and escapes.
Tomson attempts a counter takedown but Terrell avoids it well and moves away.

Tomson tries to keep at a distance but Terrell has taken the fight into the clinch.

Terrell has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Tomson after a bit of a struggle.
Tom Tomson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Terrell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tomson goes for a takedown attempt but Terrell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Terrell is concentrating on defense, preventing Tomson from advancing position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Terrell can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tomson avoids the attempt from Terrell to control.

Tomson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Tomson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Terrell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Tomson gets his way!

Tomson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Terrell.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tomson is looking for a choke. Terrell gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Terrell manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Terrell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tomson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Terrell has managed to get both his arms back between Tomson's legs - danger averted.

Tomson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Terrell defends it well.
Terrell tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Tomson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Terrell wants to hold on but Tomson pushes him away.

Terrell is in all sorts of trouble here.

Terrell tries to hold on but Tomson postures up.
Terrell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tomson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tomson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Terrell is surviving well by controlling Tomson's body position as best he can.
Terrell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Terrell wants to hold on but Tomson pushes him away.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round.

Tomson quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Tomson but it's paid off an Terrell is forced to tap! Nice work by Tomson.
