Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edmond Tarverdyan (ranked 4137 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier LaFera (ranked 5507 p4p, 0 weight class). Tarverdyan's entrance music is I'm a beautiful queen!. A fine choice. Edmond Tarverdyan is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edmond Tarverdyan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xavier LaFera! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! LaFera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Tarverdyan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Tarverdyan wants to try and get back to his feet. LaFera takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. It looks like LaFera might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Tarverdyan is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. LaFera looking to control and managing it successfully. LaFera landing punches. LaFera controlling from the full mount.

LaFera controlling his opponent. Tarverdyan's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. LaFera lands a nice shot to the head. LaFera working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. LaFera takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

LaFera looking to control and managing it successfully. LaFera pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. LaFera is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tarverdyan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Let's hope that LaFera has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Tarverdyan is trying to stand up. LaFera content just to control the position here.

LaFera tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from LaFera. Yet more stalling tactics from LaFera. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. LaFera raining down shots from the mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xavier LaFera dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
No luck with that takedown attempt from LaFera. Xavier LaFera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. LaFera shoots and misses and Tarverdyan counters with a nice body shot. LaFera has closed the distance and engaged Tarverdyan in a clinch.
LaFera is working for takedown but Tarverdyan is calmly controlling the position for now. Edmond Tarverdyan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier LaFera. LaFera drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tarverdyan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Xavier LaFera has got the better of the ground game so far. LaFera has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Tarverdyan has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. LaFera has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tarverdyan blocks an uppercut.
LaFera pulls guard effortlessly. Tarverdyan trying to stand up but can't free himself from LaFera's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. LaFera uses the cage to get back to his feet.
LaFera feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. LaFera sitting in guard here, content to control. LaFera working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LaFera showing good wrestling skills to control the position. LaFera lands a couple of elbows. LaFera throwing strikes from guard but Tarverdyan blocks nicely. LaFera pushing down on Tarverdyan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. LaFera stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LaFera escapes and gets back to his feet. LaFera closes the distance and pushes Tarverdyan back into the cage. LaFera fails to pull guard.

LaFera wants to take the fight to the mat but Tarverdyan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Tarverdyan takes a shot to the head. LaFera has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tarverdyan is trying to keep an underhook but LaFera manages to get the takedown into half guard. Tarverdyan is looking to get back to is feet but LaFera passes into side control.
Tarverdyan is letting LaFera control him for a moment. Tarverdyan wants to get back to his feet. LaFera takes a little break here. Tarverdyan wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tarverdyan wants to get back to his feet but LaFera is dominant here and he's now got Tarverdyan's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xavier LaFera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

LaFera lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A short right from LaFera on the inside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. LaFera goes for a takedown attempt but Tarverdyan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

LaFera manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. LaFera swings wildly with an uppercut but Tarverdyan uses good head movement to avoid it. LaFera tries to pull guard but Tarverdyan forces him back to his feet, against the cage. LaFera jumps guard but Tarverdyan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Xavier LaFera seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. LaFera drags the fight down to the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fight moves into the clinch position. A head punch blocked on the inside by Tarverdyan. LaFera avoiding damage as Tarverdyan throws knees to the body.

LaFera lands an uppercut. LaFera wants a takedown but no success here.

LaFera takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tarverdyan blocks an uppercut.
LaFera lands a hook to the side of the head. LaFera is trying to pull guard but Tarverdyan has him pressed against the cage. LaFera is trying to drag Tarverdyan to the mat but Tarverdyan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. LaFera working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A head punch on the inside from LaFera fails to land. LaFera is trying to pull guard but Tarverdyan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Tarverdyan blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

LaFera lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. LaFera tries to pull guard but Tarverdyan forces him back to his feet, against the cage. LaFera gets control of Tarverdyan's arms and successfully pulls guard. LaFera will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are working up against the cage. LaFera manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! LaFera lands a right hand. A head punch blocked on the inside by Tarverdyan. Edmond Tarverdyan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Xavier LaFera is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tarverdyan tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

And that's the end of the fight! Xavier LaFera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got LaFera winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
