Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Rollins (ranked 8406 p4p, 524 weight class) and Samuel Cooke (ranked 2745 p4p, 255 weight class). The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooke lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Roger Rollins has been cut.
Cooke throws a head kick that misses.
Rollins went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Rollins takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rollins is rocked!
Cooke shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Oh Rollins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cooke stalling.
Cooke escapes and gets back to his feet.
Cooke lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rollins circles away quickly and effectively.
Rollins seems to have got his legs back now.
Cooke darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cooke decides to return to a standing position.
Cooke throws a sloppy head kick and Rollins moves out of range easily.
Cooke throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cooke moves into the clinch.
Cooke lands a damaging elbow.
Cooke breaks the clinch.
Cooke closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Rollins out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Samuel Cooke!
