Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Bernie Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jinan Afzal!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Afzal moves into range and clinches up with Martin.
Martin leaning against his opponent.
Afzal misses with a body punch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Afzal stalling in the clinch.
Afzal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Martin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Afzal holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Afzal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Martin gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Martin is looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernie Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Afzal being controlled against the cage.

Afzal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Afzal shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Afzal sitting in guard here, content to control.
Afzal working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Martin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Martin can't keep his opponent in guard - Afzal advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Afzal is working for a submission of some sort.
Martin trying to hold on to Afzal's head to control him but Afzal postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Afzal slips a nice elbow through Martin's hands, connecting with Martin's forehead.
Afzal looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Martin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Afzal is looking for a kimura here.
Afzal throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Afzal trying to control the pace.
Afzal is looking to advance position but Martin won't allow it.
Afzal tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Martin.
Afzal seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Afzal seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Martin is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
