Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Richie Sambora (ranked 6138 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Marco (ranked 6486 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richie Sambora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Marco!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sambora falls off balance throwing a combination

and Marco counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Marco is thwarting Sambora's attempts to control the position.
Marco trying to pass the guard but Sambora defending well.
Sambora is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sambora blocking the ground and pound attempt from Marco.
Marco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Marco thows a huge punch but Sambora dodges it nicely.

Marco tries to pass to full mount but Sambora defends it.
Marco moves nicely into side control.
Marco working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Marco trying to control the action but Sambora is working from the bottom.
Sambora takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Sambora is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sambora gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Marco tries to control but Sambora wriggling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sambora blocking the ground and pound.
Marco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Marco controlling the pace for now.
Marco trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Marco with shots to the head and body - Sambora looks very uncomfortable down there.

Marco pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Marco lands a big shot there that rocks Sambora but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Marco can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sambora is looking to escape.

Sambora on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sambora tries to get out of the position.
Marco tries to control but Sambora wriggling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sambora is in all sorts of trouble here.
Marco working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Sambora tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sambora in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Sambora wants to control but Marco is having none of it.
Marco has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sambora's face.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Marco moves forwards but Sambora connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Sambora dives in and scores a takedown into Marco's guard.
Sambora trying to control the position from guard on top but Marco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Marco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sambora doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Marco is tightening it up a little... Sambora has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sambora reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sambora taps out! Nice BJJ there by Marco!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Dennis Marco!
