Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Zander Harland (ranked 7343 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rubens Charles (ranked 8772 p4p, 320 weight class). Harland comes to the cage accompanied by We Don't Know. Rubens Charles told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 3 losses; Rubens Charles! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

Possibly, maybe, no Harland has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Harland working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Harland has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Charles is not content to let Harland control the position. Charles regains half guard there - taking advantage of Harland's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Harland is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We've been hearing good reports from Harland's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. And that's the end of the fight! Harland takes the fight on points by 5 to 4. A relieved looking Zander Harland thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
