Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jushin Thunder (ranked 22656 p4p, 756 weight class) and Raja Abdullaev (ranked 3928 p4p, 466 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jushin Thunder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raja Abdullaev! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abdullaev takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Jushin Thunder has been cut. Abdullaev has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thunder is landing a low percentage of strikes. A slapping body kick lands there for Abdullaev. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Thunder checks a leg kick. Thunder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Abdullaev doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Decent striking displayed by Thunder there.
It looks like Raja Abdullaev has been cut. Abdullaev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big right from Abdullaev misses. Thunder lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Thunder comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Abdullaev avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Thunder misses with a jab to the body
and Abdullaev counters with a stiff right hand. Abdullaev throws the left hand but Thunder avoids the punch easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Abdullaev lands with an uppercut that bounces Thunder off the cage and back into range. Thunder looks to land a left hand but Abdullaev moved out of range nicely. Thunder ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abdullaev moves away. Abdullaev gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thunder scores with a leg kick.
Abdullaev dodges the punch combination from Thunder.
Abdullaev ducks right into an uppercut from Thunder. Thunder swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Abdullaev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Abdullaev is looking to slow Thunder down with leg kicks. Abdullaev lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Thunder throws a nice looking combination but Abdullaev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Abdullaev uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thunder. Thunder looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Thunder rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Abdullaev counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Thunder connects with a body shot. Abdullaev uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Thunder. Abdullaev scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Thunder throws a body punch but Abdullaev moves out of range. Abdullaev blocks a head kick by Thunder.
A little jabbing left from Abdullaev on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Thunder looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Thunder misses with a left hand and Abdullaev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Thunder misses with a body punch
and Abdullaev counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Thunder connects with a nice looking jab.
Thunder lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Abdullaev connects with a leg kick. Thunder looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Nice jab there from Thunder.
That has opened up Raja Abdullaev's cut even more. Thunder thows a left - swing and a miss! Abdullaev throws an overhand right that lands on Thunder's shoulder, as Thunder tries to avoid the shot. Thunder connects with a nice looking jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abdullaev lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Donk. Abdullaev catches Thunder right on the button with a cross.
Jushin Thunder's cut is getting worse. Abdullaev blocks the body kick.
Thunder throws a hook to the side of Abdullaev's head but Abdullaev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Abdullaev keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Abdullaev darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Thunder takes one to the chin there. Abdullaev misses with an uppercut. Abdullaev clobbers Thunder with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Thunder scores with a shot to the body.
Abdullaev throws a hook but Thunder avoids it easily. Thunder takes one on the button.
Jushin Thunder's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thunder works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thunder defending well as Abdullaev loads up on a big left hand. Nice cross by Abdullaev.
Thunder is rocked! Thunder walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Abdullaev swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Raja Abdullaev!
