The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fortier connects with a right hand. Severn shakes it off.
It looks like Dan Severn has been cut.
Fortier jabs at Severn's body.
Fortier connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Fortier's jab looks to have found its range, popping Severn under the eye.
Severn is breathing heavily.
Fortier throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Severn walks forward, straight into a front kick from Fortier.
Fortier lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A shot to the liver by Fortier. Beautiful body shot.
Fortier scores with the left hand. Severn knows he should have avoided that one.
We've been hearing reports that Severn has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Dan Severn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fortier cracks Severn with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Fortier has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Severn to stand back up!
Severn is rocked!
Fortier moves into the clinch.
Oh Severn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fortier lands a body shot in the clinch.
Fortier dips a shoulder and cracks Severn with a mighty uppercut! Severn falls back against the cage and Fortier unloads with a barrage of strikes! Severn is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Fortier screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hercules Fortier!
After winning the bout, Hercules Fortier thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
