Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alberto Ferrari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Preston Lawson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
It looks like Preston Lawson has been cut.
Ferrari scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lawson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lawson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ferrari counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lawson's coach down at 3Band MMA ($800/week) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lawson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lawson looks winded!
Lawson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lawson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ferrari scores with a body shot.
BAM! Ferrari delivers a spinning backfist that drops Lawson like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Alberto Ferrari!
Alberto Ferrari decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
