Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alden Travis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim De Wind!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Wind misses with a double jab
and Travis counters with an outside leg kick.
De Wind shoots in but Travis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Travis or perhaps it was just good defense by De Wind, which made it look bad.
De Wind stuffs the takedown attempt from Travis. Travis gets slowly back to his feet.
De Wind darts in trying to clinch
and Travis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps De Wind thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Travis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Wind but De Wind pushes him off and we're back to square one.
De Wind wants to counter with a clinch but Travis pushes him away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alden Travis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

De Wind gets caught napping as Travis dives in and scores a takedown. De Wind manages to retain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Travis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Travis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of De Wind's head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now De Wind is on top in guard.

Travis is pulling down on De Wind's head. It's preventing any offense from De Wind, at least for the moment.

Let's hope that De Wind has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

De Wind stands and steps away. Travis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

De Wind closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Travis to the mat! Travis manages to get full guard.

Travis has control of De Wind's left arm, preventing De Wind from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Wind changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Travis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on Travis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

De Wind is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Travis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Travis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

De Wind stands up and beckons Travis to his feet.
De Wind misses with a kick to the body
and Travis counters with a two punch combo.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Travis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Travis.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

De Wind is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Travis is aware though and is defending well.

That was a close round but I would say that Alden Travis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Travis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. De Wind is trying to defend but Travis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

De Wind makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Jim De Wind seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alden Travis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
De Wind is looking to clinch but Travis is avoiding it.

Travis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. De Wind did well to prevent Travis getting side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Wind throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Travis.

De Wind tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no De Wind has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

and Travis counters with a three punch combo that has De Wind backing up. De Wind nods at Travis to acknowledge the strikes.

De Wind shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Travis's guard.
Travis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as De Wind controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Travis enables De Wind to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Travis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

De Wind has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Travis is proving hard to escape from.

Travis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. De Wind presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Travis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jim De Wind comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well De Wind has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
