Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushii (ranked 773 p4p, 79 weight class) and Don Gotti (ranked 868 p4p, 84 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kuroda Atsushii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Don Gotti!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotti throws a big shot that misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gotti has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Gotti throws a looping overhand right but Atsushii ducks down to avoid it.
Atsushii throws a head kick that misses.
Gotti goes for a double leg but Atsushii avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Atsushii continues to drive forward.
An attempted straight right counter from Atsushii misses the target.
Atsushii throws the left hand but Gotti avoids the punch easily.
Gotti is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Gotti lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Gotti throws a body punch but Atsushii moves out of range.
Gotti is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Gotti feints and as Atsushii raises his hands in defense, Gotti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Atsushii seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Gotti loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gotti manages to work his way to half guard, despite Atsushii's best efforts.

Gotti has a hand on Atsushii's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Atsushii takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Gotti tries to roll over but Atsushii keeps him under control.

Gotti is staying active underneath Atsushii, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gotti is desperately trying to improve his position but Atsushii has a good base and remains in mount.

That was a close round but I would say that Kuroda Atsushii will probably get the nod.

Gotti throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Atsushii throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Nice uppercut there from Gotti.
Gotti fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Atsushii manages to avoid it.
Gotti moves out of range as Atsushii throws a body kick.
Atsushii tries a low kick but Gotti avoids it.
Don Gotti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gotti looks to score with a jab to the body but Atsushii is just out of range.
Gotti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Atsushii manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As Gotti backs away, Atsushii returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Gotti lunges at Atsushii with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Atsushii's hand.

Gotti is looking for a kimura but Atsushii is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gotti to get the leverage.

Gotti is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Atsushii has managed to free his arm - good work.

Gotti is working for a submission of some sort.
Don Gotti has got the better of the ground game so far.
Atsushii preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gotti is working for a kimura but Atsushii is defending it quite comfortably.
Atsushii is not content to let Gotti control the position.

Gotti wants to work for an arm triangle but Atsushii is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gotti is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Gotti comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gotti will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gotti misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Atsushii.
Atsushii appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gotti. Atsushii does a little dance to reset his feet.
Atsushii's corner calls for a 1-2. Atsushii obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Atsushii lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gotti circles away quickly and effectively.

Atsushii went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Atsushii lands a nice hook to Gotti's body. Gotti takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Gotti counters with a shoot takedown. Atsushii fights it but they end up in guard.

Gotti drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Atsushii manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gotti has Atsushii in his guard.

Gotti has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Atsushii is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gotti.

Gotti looks to move to half guard but instead Atsushii has passed into mount! Damn!
Atsushii can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gotti is looking to escape.
Atsushii prevents Gotti from getting the reversal.

Gotti sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kuroda Atsushii.
I think Atsushii has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
