Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darren Swagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swagger's entrance music is Song 2 by Blur. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren Swagger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Miles! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swagger fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Swagger doesn't manage to clinch there - Miles circles away.

Miles closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Swagger punching from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swagger is looking to improve his position.
Miles landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Swagger gets full guard. Swagger is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Miles is trying to control but can't.
Miles keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Swagger wants to control but Miles is keeping him busy. Miles gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swagger stands and throws Miles's legs to the side, diving into side control. Miles is looking to regain half guard here but Swagger keeps moving and retains side control. Miles managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Swagger.
Miles avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Swagger. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miles is looking to reverse the position. Miles is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Swagger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Miles defending against the ground and pound. Miles is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Miles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swagger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Miles must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Swagger is breathing heavily. Swagger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miles's guard. Miles looking for a sweep. Not yet Miles, not yet. Miles preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Miles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Swagger is one step ahead there. Miles keeping full guard, as Swagger tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Miles thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Miles trying to keep a closed guard but Swagger is proving a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miles can do anything to dispel that myth.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Miles looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Swagger tries to clinch but Miles moves away and Miles counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Miles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Swagger paws at him with a jab and circles away. Swagger wants to clinch letting Miles counter with a right hand. Miles gets the takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swagger manages to get back to half guard. Miles trying to control the action but Swagger is working from the bottom. Swagger is looking for a sweep. Miles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Swagger is working hard here to advance position. Miles wants to take a breather but Swagger is having none of it. Nice strikes from Miles there. Miles controlling the pace. Swagger trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Swagger darts in trying to clinch and Miles counters with a nice double leg into guard. Miles wants to control from the top but Swagger keeps moving. Swagger keeping full guard, as Miles tries to pass. Miles scoring with some ground and pound. Miles with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Swagger manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round. Miles doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miles is looking to get to half guard. Miles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Swagger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Miles throwing hammer fists to the chest of Swagger. What's that going to do exactly? Swagger tries to push Miles's head away but Miles is holding on tight. Miles is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Swagger thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Swagger avoids the attempt from Miles to control. Swagger unloading with bombs! Miles is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Miles tries to hold on but Swagger pushes him away. Swagger with shots to the head and body - Miles looks very uncomfortable down there. Miles tries to lock up and control but Swagger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Miles is working to get back to half guard.
Swagger fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swagger lands a nice shot to the head. Swagger avoids the attempt from Miles to control. Miles working to try and regain half guard.
Swagger looking to finish Miles with some ground and pound. This is bad for Miles! Miles tries to lock up and control but Swagger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Miles is looking to improve his position but Swagger isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Swagger tries to control but Miles wriggling away. Miles tries to hold on but Swagger postures up. Miles is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Miles is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Swagger cracks Miles with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Miles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Swagger tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Miles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Swagger on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Swagger throws a left and a right that both miss
and Miles counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Miles shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Swagger controls Miles momentarily but Miles frees himself. Miles sitting in guard here, content to control. Miles trying to control but Swagger is working from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Miles's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles stands up from guard. Let's bang! Miles with a body punch. A glancing blow. Swagger darts in trying to clinch and Miles counters with a shoot takedown. Swagger fights it but they end up in guard. Swagger throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Miles trying to control the position from guard on top but Swagger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swagger has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Swagger looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miles wants to control from the top but Swagger keeps moving. Swagger is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Miles works over Swagger with some ground and pound from guard. Swagger doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Miles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Miles wants to control but Swagger is keeping him busy. Darren Swagger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Swagger throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Swagger is trying to get back to half guard. Miles trying to control the action but Swagger is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jay Miles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Miles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
