2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Logan McKibbon! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKibbon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dotson, pushing him back against the cage. Dotson decides to pull guard. Dotson looking for a guillotine here but McKibbon defends easily.

McKibbon wants to stand and escape but instead Dotson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. McKibbon wants to stand up but Dotson is controlling him. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McKibbon can do anything to dispel that myth. McKibbon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dotson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McKibbon defends well. Dotson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dotson has his foot on McKibbon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McKibbon works his way back into a safe position though. Dotson is working an open guard so McKibbon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. McKibbon drives through and clinches with Dotson against the cage.
Dotson wants to get back to striking at distance but McKibbon won't allow it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dotson can't break the clinch.

Dotson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McKibbon walks away with a smile on his face. Dotson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dotson tries to keep at a distance but McKibbon has taken the fight into the clinch. A knee to the head by McKibbon.
The referee is keeping an eye on McKibbon - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McKibbon lands a nice knee to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A battle for position here, against the cage. McKibbon lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
