Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Tinto (ranked 2713 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Mstislav Volkov (ranked 3720 p4p, 0 weight class). Tinto kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shell Shocked. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tinto's head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tinto is defended easily by Volkov.
A head kick misses from Volkov.
Volkov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

enabling Volkov to counter with a crisp jab.

Tinto misses with a takedown attempt - Volkov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tinto shoots for a takedown but Volkov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Tinto tries to free his leg and advance position but Volkov is retaining full guard.

Volkov is looking to stand up but Tinto isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tinto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Volkov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tinto thinking.
Tinto has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Daniel Tinto has been cut.
Volkov lands with an uppercut that bounces Tinto off the cage and back into range.
Volkov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tinto moves away.
Tinto misses the shot to the body.
Volkov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Volkov lands in his opponent's guard.
Volkov wants to stand but Tinto is controlling his posture from full guard.

Volkov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Volkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tinto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tinto takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Daniel Tinto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tinto takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Volkov counters with a nice right hand that sends Tinto toppling to the canvas! Tinto scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Volkov finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Volkov punishes Tinto's body with a nice straight punch.
Oh Tinto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Volkov throws a powerful right kick. Tinto tried to block low but the kick was high! Tinto was taken right off of his feet! Volkov jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

A determined Ruslan Mstislav Volkov didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
