Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Williams (ranked 2384 p4p, 296 weight class) and Jethro Rusted (ranked 2526 p4p, 312 weight class). Daniel Williams had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Daniel Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jethro Rusted!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rusted shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Williams was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Williams misses with a looping right.
Rusted scores with a body shot.
Rusted works the jab nicely.
Rusted tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Williams was well out of range. Poor timing from Rusted.
Williams keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Williams appears to be looking for a big counter.
Williams lands a slapping body shot.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been told by Williams's head coaches at Jed's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rusted fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Williams takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Rusted feints and as Williams raises his hands in defense, Rusted changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rusted in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rusted is stalling in the full guard.
Rusted must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Williams has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rusted is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Rusted shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rusted gets slowly back to his feet.

and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Williams is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Rusted darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Williams throws a shot from downtown. Rusted moves away and avoids it.
Rusted thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Williams if he has to take too many more of those.
Williams feints and then cracks Rusted's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rusted down.
Williams's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rusted under the eye.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rusted. That's going to slow Williams down.

Williams is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rusted can do to turn this around?

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Williams will probably get the nod.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Rusted throws the kick towards the body but Williams avoids it.

Williams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Williams wants it to stay on the feet.
