Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randall Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ling Yuan!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yuan as he jumps to the side.
Saunders shoots in looking for a takedown. Yuan tries to sprawl out of it but Saunders keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yuan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Yuan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Saunders tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Saunders fails to land with a series of punches.
Yuan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yuan connects with a nice short shot to Saunders's temple.
Saunders tries to get to full guard but Yuan has control of the leg.
Saunders regains full guard. Nicely done.
Yuan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Saunders working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yuan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yuan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Yuan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yuan.
Saunders is working an open guard so Yuan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ling Yuan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Yuan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Yuan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Saunders finds it's way round the side to connect with Yuan's head.
It looks like Ling Yuan has been cut.
Saunders fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Saunders bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yuan's guard.
Saunders has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yuan is on top in guard.
Yuan drops back looking for a leg! Saunders is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Saunders manages to kick Yuan off! Yuan jumps back into Saunders's guard.

Yuan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yuan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Saunders is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Saunders sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yuan's guard.

Ling Yuan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
