PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Gallagher (ranked 2171 p4p, 286 weight class) and Adonis Stevenson (ranked 2998 p4p, 386 weight class). Gallagher's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Drunkin' Lullabies by Flogging Molly. Adonis Stevenson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson staying out of range there.
Stevenson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gallagher is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Gallagher misses with an uppercut. Stevenson saw that one coming.
Stevenson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Stevenson throws a poor cross that misses
and Gallagher counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Stevenson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Gallagher misses with a straight right.
Stevenson slips under a jab.
Gallagher gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Stevenson.
Stevenson loads up on a big right hand but Gallagher slips the punch.
Stevenson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gallagher.

Gallagher throws a shot from downtown. Stevenson moves away and avoids it.
Gallagher takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Stevenson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gallagher manages to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gallagher tries to move into range but Stevenson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Stevenson stuns Gallagher with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Stevenson looks to score with a jab to the body but Gallagher is just out of range.
Stevenson lands with a hook. Gallagher tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gallagher throws a jab when Stevenson was well out of range.
Gallagher walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Gallagher is rocked!
Gallagher throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Oh Gallagher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stevenson throws a hook to the side of Gallagher's head but Gallagher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gallagher seems to have got his legs back now.
Gallagher lands with an overhand left.
Stevenson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gallagher throws out the jab.
A jab lands there for Stevenson.
Stevenson looks to score with a jab to the body but Gallagher is just out of range.
Gallagher has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gallagher there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gallagher slips a straight right by Stevenson.
Stevenson cracks Gallagher with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Stevenson lands a big uppercut and Gallagher crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Gallagher looks OK. Stevenson waves Gallagher back to his feet!
Adonis Stevenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stevenson throws a looping overhand right but Gallagher ducks down to avoid it.
Gallagher takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A swing and a miss from Gallagher.
Gallagher swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stevenson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Stevenson sends Gallagher crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Stevenson is motioning to the referee to let Gallagher up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Stevenson lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Gallagher falls backwards - clearly groggy! Stevenson dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
