Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Boone (ranked 3307 p4p, 366 weight class) and Jer Bear (ranked 2012 p4p, 240 weight class). Bear has chosen Good Times as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
34 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Boone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jer Bear! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bear misses with a hook. Bear dodges the punch combination from Boone.
Bear tries to clinch but Boone moves out of range. Bear drives through with a takedown into guard. Boone wants to stand up but Bear is controlling him. Bear with a flurry of punches that miss. Bear has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bear prevents Boone from getting back to his feet. Boone scrambles and gets back to his feet.
A big left from Boone misses. Bear bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Boone tries for a takedown but Bear sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Boone sets himself, and Bear steps forward looking for the clinch! Boone avoids it this time. Bear misses with a head kick.
Bear ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bear uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boone. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bear has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Boone throws a body punch but Bear moves out of range. Boone gets tackled into the cage by Bear. Bear maintains the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boone breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boone looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bear tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bear loads up on a big right hand but Boone slips the punch. Boone connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Jer Bear has been cut. A swing and a miss from Bear. Boone moves away from the strike by Bear. Boone lands with a cross. Boone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bear manages to avoid it. Boone takes one to the side of the head.
Boone avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bear fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Robert Boone has been cut. Bear has taken the fight to the clinch.
Boone manages to break the clinch.
A lazy left from Boone finds it's target. This has been an exciting period of action! Bear has closed the distance and engaged Boone in a clinch.
Bear can't get the takedown.
Boone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bear throws a head kick that misses. An attempted straight right counter from Boone misses the target. Bear shoots in for a takedown but Boone shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Boone throws a shot from downtown. Bear moves away and avoids it. Bear looks like he wants to counter punch here. Bear throws a hook but Boone blocks it. Boone moves out of range of the strikes. An inside leg kick from Boone misses. Boone misses with a straight right. Bear tries a head kick but it misses.
Boone bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bear moves out of range as Boone strikes. Bear uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boone. Bear slips under a jab. Bear scores with a jab to the jaw. Bear looks to clinch and Boone counters with a thumping low kick. Bear scores with a head kick.
Boone scores with a hook. Bear connects with a looping right hand.
Bear has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Boone finds it's way round the side to connect with Bear's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bear misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boone misses with the combination.
The fighters circling - Boone throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Boone takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Boone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boone lands in his opponent's guard. Bear working a defensive guard but Boone manages to pass into side control anyway.
Bear sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Boone winds up and cracks Bear with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Boone thows a huge punch but Bear dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boone is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Boone throws a strike but Bear avoids it easily and moves to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boone trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bear controlling Boone's posture. Bear preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boone wants to control from the top but Bear keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Robert Boone will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bear is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boone. Boone swats away the attempt to clinch by Bear. Bear misses with a leg kick and Boone counters with a stiff right hand. Boone throws the left hand but Bear avoids the punch easily. Boone throws a big shot that misses. Boone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Boone here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Boone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bear sees it coming and avoids it easily. Boone looks to throw the jab but Bear is out of range. A left lands for Boone.
That has opened up Jer Bear's cut even more. Boone looks to land a right hand but Bear moved out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bear tries to clinch but Boone is having none of it. Boone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bear can do to turn this around? No joy there for Bear, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bear scores with a hook. Bear doesn't manage to clinch there - Boone circles away.
Bear uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boone.
Bear tests Boone's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bear drives through with a takedown into Boone's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Bear throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bear accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Boone pushes Bear off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Boone throws a body punch but Bear moves out of range. Bear staying out of range there. Jer Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boone shoots in but Bear avoids the takedown attempt easily. Bear drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Boone defends it well. Boone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boone lands in his opponent's guard. Bear wants to stand but Boone is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bear works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bear is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bear tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bear trying to control the position.
Boone postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bear avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bear tries to land a sweep but no joy. Boone stands up over Bear, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jer Bear's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jer Bear's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Robert Boone! An out of breath Robert Boone thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
