Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, AJ Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angelo Suarez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Suarez!
Suarez tries to bench press Daniels off him but Daniels keeps the position.

Suarez is trying to work for a sweep but Daniels has mounted him!

Daniels jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Suarez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Suarez and Daniels has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Suarez sneaks back into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Suarez can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels tries to free his leg and advance position but Suarez is retaining full guard.

Suarez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Daniels's guard.

Suarez pushes down on Daniels's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Suarez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Daniels!

Suarez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Daniels has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Daniels!

Daniels avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Suarez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Daniels is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Suarez.

Suarez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suarez wants to pass the guard but Daniels is keeping the position.

Suarez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Daniels to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Daniels shrugs it off.
Daniels wants to control but Suarez is having none of it.

Suarez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Angelo Suarez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Suarez circles away from the clinch attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Suarez is defended easily by Daniels.
Daniels throws a big counter combination but Suarez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Suarez gets caught napping as Daniels dives in and scores a takedown. Suarez manages to retain guard.

Suarez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Daniels doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Daniels manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Daniels wanted to stand there but Suarez had control of the position.

Suarez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Suarez is looking for a triangle but Daniels pushes his legs off easily.
Suarez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Suarez shoots in looking for a takedown but Daniels manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Suarez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Daniels is looking to counter with head kicks.
AJ Daniels is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Daniels moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Suarez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Daniels to the mat! Daniels manages to get full guard.
Daniels is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Suarez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Suarez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Daniels is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Daniels has escaped and now he's on top!
