Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzalez has chosen eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Micheal Lee has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micheal Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Gonzalez! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee gets a takedown into half guard. Gonzalez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gonzalez working a defensive guard here.
Gonzalez throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Gonzalez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gonzalez working for a triangle but Lee defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee won't allow Gonzalez to pass to mount. Lee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gonzalez prevents Lee from standing back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lee keeps control of the position for the meantime. Lee wants to control but Gonzalez is keeping busy.
Gonzalez works his way into full mount! Lee sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee wants to control the action here but instead Gonzalez manages to pass to full mount! Gonzalez moves to back control. Gonzalez lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Lee hold on?!

Lee avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gonzalez. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gonzalez connects with a nice short shot to Lee's temple. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lee wants to get back to full guard. Gonzalez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Gonzalez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Lee is refusing to be controlled, as Gonzalez sits in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lee shoots in for a double leg but Gonzalez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gonzalez moves into the clinch. Gonzalez has clasped his hands together around Lee's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Lee prevents Gonzalez from improving position. Lee is trying to improve his position. Lee is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez working away. Gonzalez lands a nice forearm strike. Gonzalez passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lee! Gonzalez looking for a guillotine from mount but Lee is having none of it. Lee wants to hold on but Gonzalez pushes him away. Gonzalez is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Lee tries to hold on but Gonzalez pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Gonzalez working Lee over with strikes here. Lee is trying to escape the mount.
Lee wants to control but Gonzalez is having none of it. Gonzalez lands a big elbow. Gonzalez breaks from Lee's wrist control and lands an elbow. Gonzalez has control of Lee's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lee regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lee bucks Gonzalez off and manages to get back to his feet!

Gonzalez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gonzalez lands in his opponent's guard. Gonzalez stopping the sweep attempt from Lee. Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gonzalez tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard. Gonzalez stands up from guard. Let's bang! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gonzalez. That did some damage! Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Gonzalez. Gonzalez gets slowly back to his feet. Gonzalez fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Horrible takedown by Gonzalez or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad. Micheal Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Gonzalez. Gonzalez misses with a takedown attempt and Lee counters with an inside leg kick. Gonzalez on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Gonzalez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Diego Gonzalez has got the better of the ground game so far. Lee is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gonzalez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gonzalez swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee. Gonzalez feints and as Lee raises his hands in defense, Gonzalez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lee wants to sweep here but Gonzalez controlling him for the moment. Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lee keeping moving, preventing Gonzalez from controlling successfully. And that's the end of the fight! Diego Gonzalez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gonzalez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
