Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaiev wants to clinch.
King dives in and scores a takedown into Nikolaiev's guard.
Nikolaiev wants to control the position but King says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. King connects with a nice short shot to Nikolaiev's temple.
Nikolaiev tries to push off, looking to stand up, but King manages to move to mount!
King is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nikolaiev can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nikolaiev manages to control the position for a moment.
Nikolaiev wants to try and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nikolaiev manages to regain half guard. Good work.
King uses his free foot to push down on Nikolaiev's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nikolaiev.

King wants to control the pace but Nikolaiev is squirming around nicely.
Nikolaiev sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
King is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Nikolaiev on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nikolaiev tries to get out of the position.
King drops an elbow to the side of Nikolaiev's head.
King is trying to control the action in half guard but Nikolaiev is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

King looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nikolaiev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

King is nestled in close to Nikolaiev, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
King seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

King slips a nice elbow through Nikolaiev's hands, connecting with Nikolaiev's forehead.
Nikolaiev is pressing down on King's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
We've been informed that King has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
King sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nikolaiev's guard.
King is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Nikolaiev slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
King postures up and lands a big shot to Nikolaiev's brow.
King is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
King pushes down on Nikolaiev's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodney King dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Arseni Nikolaiev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
King goes for a double leg but Nikolaiev avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nikolaiev continues to drive forward.
King shoots in and gets a takedown into Nikolaiev's guard.
Rodney King has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nikolaiev is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea.
King is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Nikolaiev looking for a triangle here. King is fighting it but it looks tight! Nikolaiev pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, King is tapping out - this one is all over!
