Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Logan Reid (ranked 9075 p4p, 565 weight class) and Benjamin Matlock (ranked 24588 p4p, 620 weight class). Reid kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Way Down We Go. Matlock has chosen Theme from Matlock as his entrance music. Logan Reid has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Logan Reid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Benjamin Matlock! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reid fails with the takedown. Reid tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matlock swivels and escapes. Reid fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Matlock to the ground. Reid is now in Matlock's guard. Reid has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Matlock looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reid is one step ahead there. Matlock pulls Reid in close to prevent any damage. Reid is looking to work some ground and pound but Matlock has wrist control. Reid sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reid content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Reid is stalling in the full guard. Reid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reid throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reid throwing strikes from guard but Matlock blocks nicely. Reid postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Reid is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Reid looking to hit a scissor sweep but Matlock is one step ahead there. Reid wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Matlock manages to pass to side control. Matlock trying to mount his opponent but Reid defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reid desperately trying to maintain half guard. Reid tries to get to full guard but Matlock has control of the leg. Reid tries to kick Matlock off but Matlock keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Matlock is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Reid darts in looking for a takedown but Matlock gets double underhooks and turns Reid into the cage. Reid shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matlock as he avoids it easily. Reid shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reid was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Matlock sneaks back into half guard. Reid missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Reid is looking for a kimura here.

Reid throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Reid is looking to advance position but Matlock won't allow it. That's one minute gone in the round. Reid sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Matlock defending well though. Reid lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Reid thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Reid is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Matlock sees it coming and defends easily. Matlock is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Reid scores with a couple of nice shots. Matlock looking to break Reid's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Reid remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Matlock will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reid rolls, trying to escape but Matlock keeps control of the position.
Reid is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Reid trying to survive by controlling the hands. Reid tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Benjamin Matlock will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Reid showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Reid connects with a couple of short punches. Reid is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Matlock is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Matlock has escaped and now he's on top! Reid is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reid has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Matlock off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Reid closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Matlock did well to prevent Reid getting side control. Reid is looking for submissions but instead, Matlock has regained full guard.
Reid is working Matlock over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Matlock preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Reid being controlled here momentarily. Reid working some strikes from top position.

Logan Reid overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reid drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Matlock manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Reid has Matlock in his guard. Reid is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Reid seems keen to control Matlock's posture. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Matlock not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
