Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Axel Boozer (ranked 3513 p4p, 347 weight class) and Karnak Lao (ranked 4734 p4p, 443 weight class). Boozer's entrance music is Kraftwerk - The Model. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Axel Boozer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Karnak Lao! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boozer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lao shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boozer is trying to defend but Lao finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Boozer kicks Lao off and gets back to his feet. Boozer misses with a low kick.
Lao tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Lao shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lao showed some decent athleticism there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lao wants to stand but Boozer has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Boozer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lao. Boozer works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boozer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lao slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lao stands up and we're back to a striking position. Boozer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Boozer throws a sloppy body shot
and Lao counters with a low kick, right behind Boozer 's knee. A head kick by Lao misses and Boozer counters with a single leg into guard. Lao didn't expect that. Boozer stands and throws Lao's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lao tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Boozer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lao is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Boozer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Boozer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lao knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lao is looking for a sweep. Boozer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lao is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lao being controlled for a moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lao wants to control but Boozer postures up. The referee asks Boozer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Boozer prefers to stall for the moment though. Boozer is trying to get an arm triangle but Lao is defending well. Boozer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. You can see the frustration on Lao's face as Boozer controls the position. Lao is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Axel Boozer dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Boozer gets caught napping as Lao dives in and scores a takedown. Boozer manages to retain guard. Boozer has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Lao has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Boozer keeps control of Lao as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Boozer throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Laos head. Lao misses with a punch on the inside.
Boozer content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Lao tightens his grip and picks Boozer up, before dumping him to the ground. Boozer manages to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Boozer keeping moving, preventing Lao from controlling successfully. Boozer has his feet on Lao's thighs here. He's pushed Lao off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Lao screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Axel Boozer! A relieved looking Axel Boozer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
