The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lulinha misses with a lunging right hand
and Resende counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Resende slips nicely into half guard.
My spies in Bigfoot Jiu-Jitsu inform me that Resende has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Resende is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lulinha sees it coming and defends easily.

Well, with Resende on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Lulinha is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Lulinha is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Resende gets his way!

Resende is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Lulinha has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Resende has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Lulinha taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Resende doesn't care though - he's delighted!
