Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Logan Olsen (ranked 24643 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jairo Valea (ranked 4075 p4p, 0 weight class). Valea has chosen DJ Shadow - Organ Donor as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Logan Olsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jairo Valea!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valea is looking to land body kicks.
Valea connects with a solid leg kick.
Valea cracks a nice hook into Olsen's ribs.
Valea misses with a head kick.
Olsen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Olsen lands a jab to the head.
Olsen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Olsen wants it to stay on the feet.
Olsen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes from Valea. Those never looked like landing.
Olsen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A nice inside leg kick there by Valea. That's going to slow Olsen down.
Valea throws a lazy right hand but Olsen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Olsen clinches up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Olsen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Valea is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Valea keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Olsen's efforts to push away.

Olsen has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Valea is trying to keep an underhook but Olsen manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Valea is trying to escape back to his feet but Olsen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Olsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
I wouldn't like to be where Valea is right now.
Valea is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Olsen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Olsen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Valea misses with a strike from the bottom.
Valea is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Valea on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valea tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Olsen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Olsen misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Valea trying to control but Olsen flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Valea can't escape the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Olsen thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
I really don't envy Valea right now.
Valea trying to control the action but Olsen just sinks the hooks in.
You can see the frustration on Valea's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Olsen not allowing Valea to control his hands.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Valea wants to escape the position.

Olsen patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Logan Olsen will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Valea waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Olsen.
A slow jab from Valea misses its intended target.
Valea with a hook.
Valea throws a body punch but Olsen moves out of range.
Valea misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Olsen swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Valea looks to land a combination but Olsen avoids it well.

Valea shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Valea was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Valea tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Valea cracks Olsen with an elbow. That is naaassty.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Valea is working Olsen over with some ground and pound from side control.
Olsen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Valea is controlling him well.
Olsen prevents Valea from improving position.
Olsen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Olsen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Valea scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Olsen to see if he's OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Valea happy to just control the position for now.
Valea wants to control but Olsen is keeping him busy.
Valea wants to control for a moment but Olsen uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Valea not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Valea with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Valea has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Valea has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Valea is looking to stall here but Olsen recovers full guard.
Valea trying to control but Olsen is working from the bottom.
Valea connects with a couple of short punches.

Valea pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Olsen is keeping the position for now.
Olsen wants to stand and escape but Valea is having none of it.
Valea controlling from the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Olsen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Valea's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Valea is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Valea has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Olsen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jairo Valea showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Olsen closes the distance and clinches up with Valea, looking for a takedown. Olsen pushes Valea against the cage but Valea circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Valea lands with a slapping head kick.


Olsen is rocked!


It looks like Logan Olsen has been cut.
Olsen is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Valea Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Olsen is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jairo Valea!
In his post fight interview, Jairo Valea started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
