Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josiah Carrillo (ranked 24130 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georgij Kuznetsov (ranked 9015 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Josiah Carrillo has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Josiah Carrillo seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josiah Carrillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Georgij Kuznetsov! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuznetsov scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Kuznetsov looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Kuznetsov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carrillo did well to prevent Kuznetsov getting side control. Carrillo scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kuznetsov manages to mount him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carrillo gets back to half guard. Carrillo trying to control but Kuznetsov postures up.
Carrillo pushes Kuznetsov off looking to stand but Kuznetsov dives back in and keeps control.
Carrillo wants to get back to full guard. Carrillo desperately trying to maintain half guard. Carrillo looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carrillo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Carrillo is trying to maintain the position but Kuznetsov is very close to passing his half guard. Kuznetsov wants to get back to his feet.
Carrillo is trying to stand.
Carrillo is concentrating on defense, preventing Kuznetsov from advancing position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Kuznetsov misses with a leg kick and Carrillo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuznetsov has momentary wrist control but Carrillo slips an elbow through the middle. Carrillo stops Kuznetsov from standing up. Carrillo works over Kuznetsov with some ground and pound from guard. Kuznetsov has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Destroyer MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Carrillo lands a couple of digs. Carrillo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carrillo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kuznetsov wants to sweep here but Carrillo controlling him for the moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carrillo postures up and lands a big shot to Kuznetsov's brow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carrillo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Carrillo lands a couple of decent looking shots. Carrillo landing some decent shots from guard. Carrillo lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Carrillo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Carrillo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Carrillo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kuznetsov has momentary wrist control but Carrillo slips an elbow through the middle. Carrillo lands a couple of digs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carrillo lands a couple of elbows. Carrillo really is a fat lump. Carrillo landing with the ground and pound. Carrillo works over Kuznetsov with some ground and pound from guard. Carrillo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kuznetsov has momentary wrist control but Carrillo slips an elbow through the middle. Carrillo is in close to Kuznetsov's body, working some short punches and elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carrillo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Carrillo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carrillo stands up over Kuznetsov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josiah Carrillo dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Carrillo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kuznetsov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carrillo on his heels. He'll look to pass Carrillo's guard now, I'm sure. Kuznetsov prevents Carrillo from getting back to his feet. Kuznetsov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kuznetsov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carrillo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carrillo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kuznetsov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carrillo is pulling down on Kuznetsov's head to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carrillo wriggles free and stands up. Kuznetsov keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kuznetsov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kuznetsov stops Carrillo from getting back to his feet.
Carrillo makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Carrillo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Carrillo throws a head kick that misses. Carrillo gets a clinch. Carrillo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Carrillo taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Carrillo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kuznetsov is defending well for now. Carrillo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kuznetsov can do to turn this around? Carrillo lands a left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Carrillo lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kuznetsov backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kuznetsov pulls guard successfully.
Carrillo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Carrillo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kuznetsov's head. Carrillo scoring with punches to the head and body. Carrillo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Carrillo works over Kuznetsov with some ground and pound from guard. Kuznetsov is looking to stand back up but Carrillo counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kuznetsov. Carrillo working over Kuznetsov with some ground and pound. Kuznetsov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carrillo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Carrillo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kuznetsov is rocked! Carrillo drops an elbow to the side of Kuznetsov's head. Kuznetsov is still in real trouble! Can Carrillo finish him? Carrillo looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Carrillo scores with a big shot! Kuznetsov's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Kuznetsov! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
