Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Black Coleman (ranked 2862 p4p, 357 weight class) and Luke Johnson (ranked 3136 p4p, 387 weight class). Luke Johnson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
41 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Johnson! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson moves out of range as Coleman strikes. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Coleman sprawls well. Coleman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson drops his hands momentarily and Coleman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Johnson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Coleman on his heels. He'll look to pass Coleman's guard now, I'm sure. Johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Coleman has an active guard here but Johnson has managed to pass into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coleman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson stalling. Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Coleman trying to control from the bottom.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coleman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Coleman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Johnson uses it to pass to side control.
Coleman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Johnson wants to take a breather but Coleman is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg. Coleman looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Johnson trying to mount his opponent but Coleman defends it. Johnson lands strikes from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coleman is trying is best to control the position here. The fighters are battling for position here. Coleman manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Coleman wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Johnson advances position into side control! Johnson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Coleman is avoiding damage well.
Coleman is not content to let Johnson control the position. Coleman is being controlled here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson trying to control the action but Coleman is working from the bottom. Coleman is looking to reverse the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Johnson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Coleman, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Coleman against the cage but Coleman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Coleman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it. Nice jab there from Coleman. Johnson fails with the takedown. Coleman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Coleman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Coleman showed some decent athleticism there. Johnson taking some punishment here, with Coleman in his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coleman is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Johnson is looking to improve his position.

Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Johnson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Coleman. Johnson taking some punishment here, with Coleman in his half guard. Johnson gets back to full guard.

Coleman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coleman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet. Johnson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Coleman is one step ahead there. Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Coleman scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Coleman won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Coleman stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Coleman wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coleman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Coleman's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Coleman is proving a slippery customer.

Coleman connects with a couple of short punches. Black Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Coleman's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Black Coleman dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Coleman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Coleman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Luke Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Coleman moves away. Coleman misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Coleman takes the fight into the clinch. Johnson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coleman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Coleman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there. Johnson is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Coleman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Coleman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Black Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Johnson. Coleman jabs Johnson to the body, keeping him at a distance. Coleman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Coleman. Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Coleman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Coleman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Coleman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coleman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Johnson down.
Coleman scoring with punches from side control. Johnson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Coleman off and has taken his back! This has been an exciting period of action! Coleman is really stuck here.
Johnson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Coleman defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Black Coleman showed his dominance in that final round. Well Coleman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
