Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Conlon (ranked 4249 p4p, 490 weight class) and Norman Pederson (ranked 3931 p4p, 462 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Conlon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Pederson! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conlon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pederson sprawls well. Pederson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Conlon gets slowly back to his feet. Pederson flicks out a counter leg kick but Conlon steps away. Norman Pederson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pederson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pederson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pederson takes the fight into the clinch. Conlon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Conlon wants to take the fight to the mat but Pederson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Conlon. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pederson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. A short left from Pederson. Pederson gets a trip takedown into half guard. Pederson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Pederson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Conlon punching from the bottom.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Pederson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Conlon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pederson scores with a couple of nice shots. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pederson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Pederson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Conlon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Conlon gets full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pederson gets to his feet. Conlon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Pederson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Conlon moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pederson closes the distance and pushes Conlon back into the cage.

Pederson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Pederson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pederson closes the distance and clinches.

Pederson is nestled in close to Conlon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pederson lands a nice short elbow. Pederson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Conlon is looking for a sweep. Pederson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Conlon moves into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Norman Pederson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pederson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
