Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Cruze!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Berghen 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Cruze displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Berghen throws out the jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cruze enables Berghen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cruze manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Cruze wants to get back to his feet but Berghen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cruze looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Berghen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cruze down.
Berghen is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cruze will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Berghen is looking to take a break and control but Cruze is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Berghen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cruze is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Berghen is putting a hurting on Cruze here, landing some big shots from side control.

Cruze tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Berghen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cruze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berghen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Berghen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruze keeps working.
