Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hindman (ranked 3537 p4p, 422 weight class) and Gilbert Valur (ranked 3814 p4p, 443 weight class). Valur is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by David Bowie - Let's Dance. Gilbert Valur will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Hindman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gilbert Valur! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hindman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Gilbert Valur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valur lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hindman circles away quickly and effectively. Valur feints and as Hindman raises his hands in defense, Valur changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hindman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Valur trying to control the position from guard on top but Hindman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valur tries to free his leg and advance position but Hindman is retaining full guard. Valur scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hindman keeping moving, preventing Valur from controlling successfully. Valur drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Valur jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hindman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Valur wants to get up but he can't break Hindman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Valur is looking to work some ground and pound but Hindman has wrist control. Valur throws a strike but Hindman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hindman forces his way into half guard. Hindman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hindman is trying to control. Valur wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Valur looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valur is looking to control Hindman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Valur avoid being mounted? Valur desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Valur trying to hold on to Hindman's head to control him but Hindman postures up.

Valur had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hindman defends it easily. Hindman tries to free his leg and advance position but Valur is retaining full guard. Valur pulls Hindman in to control the position. Valur is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gilbert Valur dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Valur manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hindman on his heels. He'll look to pass Hindman's guard now, I'm sure. Hindman working a defensive guard here.
Valur working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hindman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Valur pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hindman is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valur working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hindman working a defensive guard but Valur passes into half guard.

Valur with the ground and pound but Hindman uses the opportunity to regain guard. Valur throwing strikes from guard but Hindman blocks nicely. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Valur working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Valur missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Valur in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hindman is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Valur throws an elbow that misses. Hindman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Valur's guard. Nice move by Hindman! Valur wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Valur is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Valur is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Valur will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hindman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Valur backwards. Valur gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Valur wants to pass to mount but Hindman is defending the position. Hindman is looking for a sweep. Valur is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Valur is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hindman defends it well. Valur tries to stand and escape but Hindman is controlling the position. Valur not landing any meaningful shots this time. Valur wants to work for an arm triangle but Hindman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gilbert Valur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Valur shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hindman's guard. Valur gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Valur darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Valur has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Valur is looking to take a break and control but Hindman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Valur is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hindman is just riding it out for now. Valur eventually gives up the hold. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Valur missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Valur with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hindman is trying to get back to full guard. Hindman trying to control from the bottom.
Valur is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Valur gets a takedown into half guard. Valur seems to be looking for submissions.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hindman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valur gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hindman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valur is one step ahead there.
And that's the end of the fight! Gilbert Valur comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Valur winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
