Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lowell Dixon (ranked 6176 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Johnson (ranked 25135 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Thunder as his entrance music. Terry Johnson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terry Johnson! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Eliza Hachem and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dixon shoots in and gets a takedown into Johnson's guard. Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Dixon stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Dixon looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Dixon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dixon is positioning himself well to prevent Johnson advancing to mount. Johnson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dixon wants to get back to his feet.

Dixon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dixon has one foot on Johnson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon is looking to score with low kicks. Dixon throws a chopping leg kick but Johnson manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Johnson drives through with a takedown into Dixon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dixon is landing with some decent strikes but Johnson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dixon connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple.
