PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soul Jah (ranked 443 p4p, 55 weight class) and Poro Peukalo (ranked 651 p4p, 84 weight class). Jah comes to the cage accompanied by Bob Marley - Buffalo Soldier. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Poro Peukalo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jah's corner calls for a 1-2. Jah obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jah just misses with a punch to the body.

Peukalo forces Jah back against the cage and clinches.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Poro Peukalo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Soul Jah's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Peukalo looks to land a combination but Jah avoids it well.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Peukalo in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Peukalo scores with a jab. Jah acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jah misses with a low kick.
No joy there for Peukalo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Jah wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Peukalo throws a nice looking combination but Jah bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jah creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Poro Peukalo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jah will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jah connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Peukalo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jah.
Peukalo appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Peukalo misses with a looping right.

Peukalo cracks Jah with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Jah looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Peukalo finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Peukalo is pawing at Jah, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Jah's nose. Jah is badly hurt! Peukalo pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Jah tries desperately to hold on but Peukalo is relentless in his assault! As Jah receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Peukalo away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Poro Peukalo!
Soul Jah was interviewed post fight and said 'Dude tried to bite my dick off! Unreal man!'.
